This is something that you want to eat when you feel like having something sweet, salty and spicy together in one dish. This is the best food item that you can enjoy with your drinks or without drinks. You don’t need bread/chapati with this. All the age group people like this Honey Chilli Potato recipe.
Ingredients:
- 2 peeled potatoes
- ½ diced onion
- ½ diced capsicum
- 2 cups of water
- Salt as per taste
- 2-3 tbsp cornflour
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup oil
- 2-3 tbsp oil for making the sauce
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 chopped green chillies
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
Method:
- Cut the potatoes into long sticks.
- In a saucepan, bring one and a half cups of water to a boil and add salt and potato sticks.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes. Transfer the potatoes to a bowl and drain any excess water.
- Now add 2-3 tablespoons of cornflour, red chilli powder and black pepper.
- Mix it well and deep fry till the potato sticks turn golden brown. Remove it and set it aside.
- In a frying pan, heat oil and sauté ginger-garlic paste and green chilli for 1-2 minutes.
- Now add onions and capsicum and cook on a high flame for 2-3 minutes.
- Then add soy sauce, ketchup and chilli sauce and cook for 2 minutes.
- Take a small bowl, add the remaining cornflour and mix it with 2-3 tbsp of water to make a thin slurry.
- Pour it into the mixture and stir continuously till it gets thick.
- Now add the fried potatoes and mix well.
- Lower the flame, add honey and stir for another 30 – 40 seconds and transfer into a serving bowl.
- Garnish it with white sesame seeds and enjoy with or without drinks.
