DHOKLA
A steamed and nutritious dish, dhokla is not difficult to make. Dhokla is an easy snacks recipe and serves as sweet (half dipped sugary water) and salty (dry).
DHOKLA INGREDIENTS:
- Besan – 2 cup
- Curd – 1 cup ( or as per dhokla batter constancy)
- Ginger – 1 Inch
- Salt- 1 tsp
- Sugar – 1 tbs
- Semolina- 1 tbs
- Oil (for greasing the thali/pot)
- Eno (plain/lemon)
FOR TEMPERING:
- Oil: 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
- A few curry leaves
- A pinch of asafetida powder
METHOD:
- Take a bowl and put besan, curd crushed ginger, salt and sugar and mix all the ingredients.
- When it becomes smoother batter without lumps then give it 10 mistunes rest.
- Take a pot/thali and grease it.
- After 10 minutes rest add Eno and mix it quickly and transfer the batter into pot/thali.
- Put the pot into the steamer and steam it for 10 -15 minutes on low flame.
- (You can check if dhokla is ready or not with a toothpick, put the toothpick in dhokla and if it comes clean that means it’s ready.)

Now pour the tempering on it and cut it into square pieces. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.

- Sugar- 1 tbs
- Lemon- 1
METHOD:
- Put all the ingredients in the mixer and grind well.
- Add water in small-small quantity and it’s ready.
